Systematic Training For Effective Parenting
Teens 4 A Change
Teen Parenting Program
Wise Guys

Wise Guys

A male self-responsibility curriculum designed to prevent adolescent pregnancy, reduce substance abuse, reduce violence, increase high school completion and to increase communication skills among parents and teens.

  6. Abstinence and Contraception
  7. Sexually Transmitted Infections
  8. Goal-Setting
  9. Decision-Making
  10. Parenthood

We conduct this program for a minimum of two sessions for up to 25 participants per session. The sessions are two hours in length and will be held for ten weeks.

A trained instructor will conduct the program. Our target group will be males in grades 7th -9th. We will actively recruit high risk participants but will include all interested males in 7th-9th grades. It is our goal to at some point offer this program to all 7th-9th grade males in Tift County.

Teen Parenting Program

The program is open to all pregnant or parenting girls in Tift County. Our target group is 8th-9th grades but all others are welcome.

The Program

  1. Teach teen mothers to care for and nurture their children.
  2. Teach interpersonal skills.
  3. Develop skills to make responsible decisions including abstinence.
  4. Encourage graduation from high school.
  5. Focus on both short and long range goals.

The program meets after school once a week during the school term at Northeast High School Campus.

Teens 4 A Change

A youth leadership program that targets age group 9th-12th grade students in Tift County.

We strive to include students from all cultural and socioeconomic segments of the population.

The Focus

The group strives to develop leadership skills and participate in the community through volunteerism in community service projects.

The group will participate in projects where mentors or peers will better serve to deliver the message of abstinence and also to serve as youth advisors to adult community groups.

The group meets every other week for group meetings and participates or performs at least one community service project per month.

Membership

Open to all Teens grades 9 - 12 in Tift County who are interested in developing leadership skills and becoming the future leaders in our community.
